She is a pink girl so I knew what colour to start with and it took a bit of time to get the end result but am happy how it turned out and she loved it so that was the main thing.

JAI Scrap Challenge # 11
Merry Christmas everyone. Now that christmas has been and the gifts given I can now blog and enter this in to the JAI Scrapbooking Challenge #11 which is Just Add a mini album or a Scrapbooking gift for Christmas. I created this scrap page on a canvas of my adorable little friend Ella (aged 3) and gave it to her and her mum for christmas.
I sponged the background and stamped and sponged/stenciled using a dollies cutout. Have used stickers that have a 3D effect so the the Butterflies and Dragonflies wings can be positioned off the page. Did Ella's name by cutting out the letters in chipboard with the big shot and sponging ink onto them and them applying Crystal Effects and Dazzling diamonds.
Am really pleased with how it turned out and the recipients were thrilled with it too.

Faux Patina
Went to a Stamp Camp last weekend run by two amazing ladies Paula Dobson and Sharlene Meyer at the Silverstream Retreat. Was a great weekend spent crafting with like minded friends and a chance to make new friends as well.
I was asked to demonstrate a technique to WOW the crafters so I decided to show the Faux Patina technique that Paula taught us. This involves using about 4 inks and some embossing powder as well as a textured embossing folder.
I demonstrated this card using Daffodil Delight, Gumball Green, Midnight Muse, and some Cherry Cobbler inks for a christmas theme. I used the Lace Brocade embossing folder and Pewter embossing powder and finished it with Gumball Green and Midnight Muse stitched satin ribbons.
This one uses glossy cardstock with pink and red colours with Pewter embossing powder and the Lace brocade folder.
I had also used this technique on a scrapbook page Here, so you are only limited by your imagination as to what you can use and how you use it..
It was a great technique to show and had a few ladies try it out over the weekend.

Here are some of the samples I made up to show other colours and uses.
This one was done in yellows and blues with gold embossing and is the lid of a box. It was finished with a stitched satin ribbon in the new in colour Midnight Muse. The embossing folder is the new Lace Brocade.
This is a card that was done in blues, green and brown also with gold embossing and finished with some organza ribbon and an antique brad. The embossing folder is Vintage Wallpaper.
