Merry Christmas Everyone.

Had meant to post this Christmas card earlier but time got away on me but here it is and Merry Christmas to you all and your families.

I have also decided to enter this into the Just Add Ink challenge this week which is a sketch  challenge.  You should pop over and have a look at all the other fantastic creations.

I used Cherry Cobbler, Pear Pizzazz and Very Vanilla card stock and a Very Vanilla envelope that I recut to fit the card.  The inks used were Cherry cobbler, Old Olive and Pear Pizzazz and then there is the addition of a square Rhinestone Brad and Dazzling Diamonds.

Just Add Ink # 47

This week at Just Add Ink they have a colour challenge for us and an interesting combination it is too.

We have to use these colours in whatever we make for this week.
As I am still in birthday mode I have made another birthday card for my dad this weekend, Happy Birthday Dad.  Wasn't sure if I could get a mans card out of this challenge but gave it a go an this is the end result.

I used Daffodil Delight and Tempting Turquoise DSP from the Brights Pattern Stack, Riding Hood Red card stock on a base card of Basic Grey card stock.  Ink is Basic Grey and the stamps sets are retired Greetings Eight and the new Grunge Rock set.  I stamped over the DSP to tone down the bright colour and make it more masculine (I hope) added some brads and linen thread.  So there we have it.

Hope some of you have a go at some of these challenges some time too.

Time for a Treat

Just Add Ink #46

I wanted to show you all this cute card that Ellen made for her friends birthday a couple of months ago and as the Just Add Ink challenge this week is to add "critters" I decided that now would be a good time to post them on my blog.

She made it using a treat cup which she filled with mini M & M's.  We made sure that there was a slider behind the treats so that they could be got out without ruining the card. The little bears shirt was stamped with the very vintage wheel.  I'm sure Emma loved it.

Happy Birthday

I had a birthday last week and I thought I would like to show you the lovely cards my friends and family made and gave me.

This card was made by my talented daughter Ellen
who also clear embossed the cakes on this card.

This card and bottle tag came from my friend and upline Paula.

This card was made for me by my friend Chris.

and this little set was made by my friend Vicki who also made these lovely brooches

Last but not least was the cake that Tina made me

She did a great job.

Thanks very much my lovely friends for all you birthday wishes.

Just Add Ink 45

This week Just Add Ink has a sketch challenge and as
there are still birthdays in my family to make cards for I
decided to use this opportunity to make something I
could enter into this weeks challenge.

This is what I came up with.

I made this cute double pocket bag. Using Old Olive DSP, cardstock and ribbons with the gift bag stamp from Birthday Bakery (my Fav at the moment), brads, pearls, diamantes and of course Dazzling diamonds.

Then I decided I would make a card to go with the bag and thought why not stick to the same theme.

I again used Old Olive cardstock and DSP,  my favourite stamp set, pearls, diamantes and dazzling diamonds.

The sentiment is from the Curly Cute stamp set.

Here are a couple of photos of them together.

Happy Birthday Ellen

It was my daughter Ellen's 16th birthday last week and this is the card I made her (the night before).
I'm sure she would have loved to have got this many bags of gifts (wouldn't we all).

The stamp set used is the level1 hostess set Birthday Bakery.  I coloured in all the bags with blender pens and added dazzling diamonds to the tissue paper and  the hearts.  I also used the same stamp on the card base to add some interest.
You can really see the shiny dazzle on this (blurry) photo.

Ellen's Card

My daughter Ellen made this card today.  She CASED it from one of Paula Dobson's which you can see here

I think she has done a pretty good job for her first time at sponging more than just the edges.

Happy Birthday

Well I have had another go at sponging and feel this is a little better.  I have masked at the same time to get the colour graduations.  I have then stamped over the background with the butterfly from the Punch Potpourri hostess set.  This has all been done with one colour, Marina Mist.

I have then stamped and punched another butterfly and added that with a 3 D effect by raising its wings. It has been put on a base card of Marina Mist also.  The ribbon is the Marina Mist satin ribbon and I have used gold brads and pearls to finish it all off.  The sentiment comes from the Fun and Fast Notes set.

Look whats on my card

Just had to show you what was on my card.  Went away to get my camera and this is what I came back too.

And it's not the first time the cat has decided that the best place to sit is the middle of my workspace.

While I'm showing you one cat I might as well show you what the other cat thinks of stamping up brown paper. This cat likes to get into any box or bag that is available.

Sympathy Card

Well unfortunately I had to make a sympathy card this week.  So I have tried a bit of sponging, will need to practice more as I'm not that happy with the way it looks.  I used the Lovely as a Tree stamp set as I thought that this would suit the occasion and the sentiments from the hostess set Occasional Quotes.

I have used Basic Grey, Basic Black and Very Vanilla cardstock with sponging in Basic Grey at top and sponging with Early Espresso at the bottom. Trees and sentiment stamped in Basic Black.  It has all been tied together with some Night of Navy taffeta ribbon and a few dots of white gel pen.

Just add Christmas JAI 43

This weeks challenge over at Just Add Ink is to Just Add Christmas.

I made some of these gift bags for a team swap last week and thought that
as this meets this weeks challenge why not use it.

I made the bag topper with a top note cut out of Pear Pizzazz card stock and then
layered it with another top note that had been turned sideways and cut again in the Red Flocked paper from the Christmas Cocoa Specialty DSP, available in the Welcome Christmas Bundle of the Dress Up Christmas Promotion.

The greeting is from the Welcome Christmas set and had been stamped with
Real Red and Versamark inks and heat embossed with clear embossing powder mixed with Dazzling Diamonds.  It has then been cut out and attached with metalic brads and tied together with Whisper White 1/4" Grosgrain ribbon.

Of course as it's Christmas the candy canes were just the thing to go in the bags.

Ellen's fun with baking

I have finally done it

I've finally got a blog started.  So I hope you all bear with me while
I work out what I am doing.  Have to find batteries for the camera
as they have disappeared  probably into someone else's camera.
